The story of "The Friend of Youth" is told here in a brief, popular manner for teenagers and adults. A practical joker with a great sense of humor in his youth, St. John Bosco (1815-1888) grew up to become a priest and the founder of the Salesians (the largest order in the Church). Relates the many prophetic dreams he had, how Our Lady called him and helped him to become a priest, his struggles with the devil, and much more! An easy read, and a great book for any Catholic.

Beloved author Deacon Greg Kandra knows all too well what it is to be busy. Drawing from his own experience and those of fellow Catholics and the saints’ lives, Deacon Kandra helps us realize the importance of prayer and offers practical tips for making it a part of each day. Prayer includes regular participation in the sacraments (Mass, Confession) but is also about a constant communication with God and a way to plan our day each morning and evaluate our progress each evening. How is God showing us to spend our time? What can we do to be less busy and make room for God? This book answers these questions.

However, Eddie Bosco in fact stayed in France for four and a half years. The teenager got involved in a situation that almost overnight developed into an action-filled adventure. Although the book is fictional, it is inspired by actual events. The story has something for everyone, including ongoing friendships, loyalty, romance, love, drama, action, sex, and violence. At the age of eighteen years old, Eddie Bosco was a kept young man, connected with some good financial coconspirators, teamed up with his new honorably discharged veteran friends, and created his own army. Then he took on the most feared crime gang in all of France. Eddie Bosco is truly a must-read riveting story for everyone's enjoyment. However, the purpose of the story is to present the facts so that the reader can form their own opinions and own conclusions as to why Eddie Bosco did what he did. Read less

Now, what purpose can this chronicle serve? It will be a record to help people overcome problems that may come in the future by learning from the past. It will serve to make known how God himself has always been our guide. It will give my sons some entertainment to be able to read about their father's adventures. Doubtless they will be read much more avidly when I have been called by God to render my account, when I am no longer among them. Should they come upon experiences related maybe with complacency or the appearance of vainglory, let them indulge me a little. A father delights in speaking of his exploits to his dear children. It is always to be hoped that the sons will draw from these adventures, small and great, some spiritual and temporal advantage. St John Bosco
