Magic Moments as Paths Cross is a collection of true stories the author encountered that were too special to forget, teaching him about the importance of cultures around the world, introducing him to inspirational people, and exposing him to amazing situations. It was first written as a log for his children and grand children to inspire them to find their own magic moments in life, but he was encouraged to share it with others as a record of moments that should not be forgotten. History is full of them, everyone has them, but they often get lost. The real world with your magic moments is not on TV. They are out there waiting for you.

In Crossing Paths, John Daverio explores the connections between art and life in the works of three giants of musical romanticism. Drawing on contemporary critical theory and a wide variety of nineteenth-century sources, he considers topics including Schubert and Schumann's uncanny ability to evoke memory in music, the supposed cryptographic practices of Schumann and Brahms, and the allure of the Hungarian Gypsy style for Brahms and others in the Schumann circle. The book offers a fresh perspective on the music of these composers, including a comprehensive discussion of the 19th century practice of cryptography, a debunking of the myth that Schumann and Brahms planted codes for "Clara Schumann" throughout their works, and attention to the late works of Schumann not as evidence of the composer's descent into madness but as inspiration for his successors. Daverio portrays the book's three key players as musical storytellers, each in his own way simulating the structure of lived experience in works of art. As an intimate study of three composers that combines cultural history and literary criticism with deep musicological understanding, Crossing Paths is a rich exploration of memory, the re-creation of artistic tradition, and the value of artistic influence.

Mark Twain wrote in 1869 in Innocents Abroad: Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.? The Strange Request introduces Alex with a need for nurture and a full life. His parents kept him sequestered for years for unusual reasons. An older sister moved away from home, taking Alex with her, but requests help. As Greg and Gwen listen, strangers they meet and show care for him, Alex begins to lead them to a number of mysterious places in the Pyrenees Mountains of Spain near a retreat full of interesting international guests. Greg and Gwen have insight into the mysteries that unfold as they explore. One mystery opens another with ensuing solutions in France, Spain, Myanmar/Burma and Thailand. Old treasure returns to families generations later. Rare rubies emerge glowing from internal light. Caves appear with intact pictographs and ancient burial sites full of artifacts. Characters in the book have different skills, experiences in life, creativity for design and use of light for special decoration. Skills of observation reveal more mysteries. Each character shares philosophies and ideals learned from travel and living life with exuberance. Live life with zest, the mental spice.

Salute the Souls is a gripping exploration of human emotions, artistically weaving together various themes that resonate deeply with anyone who has ever loved. At its core, it is a heart-melting saga that delves into the rock-solid devotion to one's country, set against the intricate backdrop of love's ebbs and flows in the tumultuous sea of life. The story transverses through savage communal conflicts, leading to brutal massacres. This is not a usual account of a hero and heroine. All the key characters exemplify stirring acts of valor. At the heart of the story rests the untiring desire of the protagonists to join the ranks of the Indian Army. It is the zest that kindles brick-walled dedication and heart-rending sacrifices. As the plot unfolds, the pursuit of revenge transcends the ordinary call of duty. It introduces an element of intense drama, elevating the stakes and keeping readers on the edge of their seats. Throughout the narrative, courageousness takes center stage, as the characters go to great lengths to honor and uplift their nation. Salute the Souls creatively paints a rich landscape of emotions and serves as a tribute to the immortal sacrifices of the soldiers. It underlines a powerful message that communal riots and terrorism are the archrivals of humanity. The chronicle punctuates the idea that unity and collective effort have the potential to lead humanity toward a brighter and more harmonious future.

Six thousand years ago, in the time before the first megaliths and stone circles, Druids appeared in small numbers throughout Europe. They began an inexplicable migration toward the Western Isles of Scotland. Among these was a Druid prophet, Lazwin. Lazwin predicted the coming of the Beltane child. The child would reunite the rune casters, gather the Druid faithful, and set in motion a series of events that would alter the history of Druid healing magic. Sadly, Lazwin's prophecies were lost to time. In 1820 a Druid child named Finn was playing near the Faerie Pools on Skye. He found a small opening behind a waterfall. Stored within this hollow were the perfectly preserved scrolls containing the prophecies of the elder Lazwin. This is the story of his prophesied Beltane child and his effect on Scottish culture. The pages describe the Beltane child's quest to many of Scotland's sacred sites and his travels around the world, meeting shamans and healers. They share his journey along the eightfold path and his understanding of herbal medicines and essential oils. You will learn of the child's discoveries on a bus trip from Kathmandu to London. In these pages, Dr. Mellen helps you realize there should be some reason for the things that have gone into making you you. If you have ever wondered, "Why am I here?" "Where am I going?" and "How am I going to get there?" Dr. Mellen provides you with a fresh perspective and some rather surprising answers.
