As the race to build the world’s first quantum computer is coming to an end, the race to build the quantum internet has just started. This book leverages the author’s unique insights into both the Chinese and American quantum programs. It begins with the physics and history of the quantum internet and ends with the latest results in quantum computing and quantum networks. The Chinese quantum Sputnik moment. The U.S. National Quantum Initiative. What’s up with Quantum Computing Supremacy? The Race to Build the Quantum Internet. Where will Quantum Technology be Tomorrow? Written by a renowned quantum physicist, this book is for everyone who is interested in the rapidly advancing field of Quantum Technology — The Second Quantum Revolution. The 2016 launch of the Chinese quantum satellite Mozi was a quantum Sputnik moment. The United States went from thinking it was ten years ahead of the Chinese to the realization that it was ten years behind them. This quantum gap led to the U.S. National Quantum Initiative, launched in 2018. Since then, the race to build the quantum internet has taken off at breakneck speed.

This book tells the story of the second quantum revolution which will shape the 21st century as much as the first quantum revolution shaped the 20th century. It provides unique orientation in today's discussion and the latest progress on the interpretation of quantum physics and its further technological potential. As you read this book the first prototypes of this revolution are being built in laboratories worldwide. Super-technologies such as nanotechnology, quantum computers, quantum information processing, and others will soon shape our daily lives, even if physicists themselves continue to disagree on how to interpret the central theory of modern physics. The book will thus also touch on the profound philosophical questions at the heart of quantum mechanics.

Quantum mechanics entails effects like superpositions and entanglement, which have no classical counterparts. From a technological standpoint these counterintuitive quantum aspects can be viewed as an unexploited resource that can be harnessed to support various tasks, e.g. in the domains of computation, communication, and metrology. In many applications, however, the potential of nonclassical states cannot practically be exploited due to detection inefficiencies. The authors address this limitation by experimentally realizing a novel detection scheme in which entangling interactions are time reversed. In this way, nonclassical many-particle states are disentangled, allowing them to be detected in a robust and technically feasible manner. In the context of quantum metrology, these nonlinear readout techniques extend the class of entangled probe states that can be leveraged for sensing applications without being limited by finite detector resolution. The authors present an active atom interferometer, where both the entangled state preparation and disentangling readout involve parametric amplification. This “SU(1,1)” interferometer is implemented with the help of spinor Bose–Einstein condensates, where amplification is implemented by atomic collisions leading to spin exchange.

Quantum mechanics, the subfield of physics that describes the behavior of very small (quantum) particles, provides the basis for a new paradigm of computing. First proposed in the 1980s as a way to improve computational modeling of quantum systems, the field of quantum computing has recently garnered significant attention due to progress in building small-scale devices. However, significant technical advances will be required before a large-scale, practical quantum computer can be achieved. Quantum Computing: Progress and Prospects provides an introduction to the field, including the unique characteristics and constraints of the technology, and assesses the feasibility and implications of creating a functional quantum computer capable of addressing real-world problems. This report considers hardware and software requirements, quantum algorithms, drivers of advances in quantum computing and quantum devices, benchmarks associated with relevant use cases, the time and resources required, and how to assess the probability of success.

“Goswami shows that the quantum worldview is not dreamy philosophy or esoteric physics, but has profound social consequences of planetary significance.” —Larry Dossey, MD, New York Times–bestselling author Beginning with Taking the Quantum Leap by Fred Alan Wolf, there have been a number of books that have created new paradigms for integrating science and spirituality. These books have been long on theory and short on application. This work represents something completely different for this genre. In his previous book, God is Not Dead, Goswami proved that not only are science and religion compatible, but that quantum physics proves the existence of God. In this new book, Goswami moves beyond theory into the realm of action. He asserts that quantum thinking is striking the death blow to scientific materialism; that quantum thinking allows us to break from past bad habits and brings us into free will and possibilities. Beginning with the question: “God is here, so what are you going to do about it?” Goswami calls for a plan of action that involves applying “quantum thinking” to a variety of societal issues. He issues a call for a spiritual economics that is concerned with our well-being rather than only our material needs; democracy that uses power to serve, instead of dominating others; education that liberates rather than shackles; and new healthy practices that restore wholeness. “Dr. Amit Goswami as usual has the most brilliant insights into how consciousness conceives, constructs, and becomes biology.” —Deepak Chopra “Read it seriously and take heart—all is not lost and we can change reality.” —Fred Alan Wolf, author of Taking the Quantum Leap

As yer humble “groveling” (if I may) author I implore you to purchase this semi humble tome (aka book). If not for yerself, how about doing it “for the children”. Who or what “children” ye ask? Where else can you get the truth about the “Truth”, of which Pilate wasn’t the first to ask, “what is It?” Additionally, we cover UFO’s, shape changers,(aka skin walkers) were wolves/leopards, vampiric phenomena (cattle mutilation, aka “mutes“), so-called “aliens”, Sasquatch, (aka Big Foot) crop circles, dowsing, 2012, 2013, 2014, yadda yadda “what not“, the real Jesus, a really cool pizza recipe, God’s signature, and we incorporate the Deville’s (AKA satan, light giver, “lord of the flies”) opinion’s (which can be somewhat enlightening [am I the only one who thinkz he {Lucifer} should “aim higher”]???????), where the bleep was I?… Oh yeah, that’s wright, this is supposed 2 be about the author. Frankly, does anybody really give a shit about the author? I mean who reads this “bleep” anyway? I mean who cares that BD Popparokc (aka BD [ known affectionately by those who don‘t know him, as a possible genius and mutilator of electric guitars {and less affectionately by those who know as an asshole or “madman“) must encapsulate his entire life’s story in a brief 250 word essay due to the expediency’s and demands of “the publisher”. Maybe you can do better. Parent’s beware, there is a sampling of “profanity, misspillings, and grammatical crime” concealed with in the pages of this vehicle of understanding, but nothing worse than what yer kids are already hearing at home or in school, thusly… ye have been warned
