It prompts me to harm myself in the name of fun. It taunts me, calling me names that hurt me names that have had power over me since my childhood, names that prompt me to lash out , to act in ways that I would really rather not. And it criticizes me--constantly--a never-ending stream of cynical, personally targeted satire that leaves me angry, defensive, and depressed. Oh, I know the voice well. I hear it daily. Do you? Satan did many things to block the writing of this book. He may be telling you that you don't need to read it. If you've heard Satan's whispers, you need this book learn of his lies and find the power to break the lies that bind you!

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? That was the question that was posed to me when I began my journey of transformation. We all experience pain in one way or another. Pain comes in the form of betrayal, loss, abuse, and so much more. In order to transform our lives, we need to fight the demons inside of ourselves. Satan whispers in our thoughts, telling us all our faults in order to keep us captive to his stronghold. I have given strategies in this book that will help us overcome Satan's whispers, leading us to learn new ways in how we react to situations and turmoils. Giving us the freedom to feel the unconditional joy, peace, and love of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Offering a perspective of the world as an arena of assessment and testing, this masterfully illuminating investigation explores the struggle between man and his archenemy, Satan. The book claims that success in life is based on knowing one's enemies and developing strategies. Discussing the attributes of Satan and his methods of approach, this study references Satan's most obvious trait?his declaration of war on humankind?and notes that his deception, whispers, trickery, and diabolical plots can only be effective when human beings display weakness. The only traditional prevention is to lead a pious life without leaving any gaps for the attacks of Satan and his aids, but this examination presents another prescription for protection from Satan's evil?becoming spiritually equipped by attaining inner and outer unity and attaining cohesion between one's heart and actions.

This book is about the multiple loves of Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained: sanctioned loves and outlawed loves, sincere loves and false loves, Christian loves, classical loves, humanist loves, and love as emotion. In showing how these loves motivate the most significant actions of the Paradise epics, it reveals Milton to have made creative use of the tensions between philosophical ideals, social conventions, and the rather messier ways in which love emerges in practice. Love, so central to Milton’s view of Edenic joy and obedience to God, unsettles earthly and heavenly communities and is the origin of Miltonic transgression. Milton’s Loves sheds new light on some of the most prominent concerns of Milton scholarship, including why Milton’s God is so difficult for readers to connect to, Satan’s apparent heroism, Milton’s radical theology, and the nature of Milton’s muse. It is a book that will appeal to students and scholars of Milton and early modern studies more broadly and is structured in a way that will aid easy reference.

What forms can a religiously informed, ethical Muslim life take? This book presents two important accounts of ideal Muslim subjectivity, one by 9th century moral pedagogue, al-Harith al-Muhasibi (d. 857) and the other by 20th century Kurdish Quran scholar, Said Nursi (d. 1960). It reconstructs Muhasibi’s and Nursi’s accounts of ideal Muslim consciousness and analyzes the discursive practices implicated in its formation and expression. The book discusses the range of psychic states and ethical relations that Muhasibi and Nursi consider critical for living an authentically Muslim life. It highlights the importance of discursive practices in Muslim religious and moral self-production. The author draws on Foucault's insights about ethics and practices of self-care to examine familiar Muslim discourses in ways that enrich contemporary conversations about identity, individuality, community, authority, moral agency and virtue in the fields of religious studies, Islamic studies and Muslim ethics. The book deepens our understanding of the fluidity and fragility of both the more familiar, obligation-centered ethics in Islamic thought and the less familiar, belief-centered modes of religio-moral being.
