The King in Yellow is a book of short stories by American writer Robert W. Chambers, first published by F. Tennyson Neely in 1895. The book is named after a fictional play with the same title which recurs as a motif through some of the stories. The first half of the book features highly esteemed weird stories, and the book is described by S.T. Joshi as a classic in the field of the supernatural. There are ten stories, the first four of which, The Repairer of Reputations, The Mask, In the Court of the Dragon and The Yellow Sign, mention The King in Yellow, a forbidden play which induces despair or madness in those who read it. The Yellow Sign inspired a film of the same name released in 2001. The British first edition was published by Chatto & Windus in 1895 (316 pages). This version includes new illustrations.

One evening in May, 1888, the Café des Écoles was even more crowded and more noisy than usual. The marble-topped tables were wet with beer and the din was appalling. Someone shouted to make himself heard. "Any more news from the Salon?" "Yes," said Elliott, "Thaxton's in with a number three. Rhodes is out and takes it hard. Clifford's out too, and takes it - "

This powerful and dignified story of heroic justice is a story for all people and all times. The book tells the legend of King Christian X of Denmark. The ruling of the Nazis that all Danish jews would have to display a yellow star on their clothes frightened the Danes and their King. He sought for guidance in the starry night sky, and came up with a very simple answer. Everyone, himself included, would wear a yellow star. The book's focused and simplified approach allows children to be exposed to an unpleasant subject without feeling threatened. The seamless interaction between the illustrations and the text make this a fascinating and thought-provoking piece of work.

"Explore over fifty years of history and art of the first mainstream black superhero, Marvel's Black Panther, with insight from those who helped create the character himself. From his first appearance in Fantastic Four (1966) to his current New York Times best-selling solo series, the King of Wakanda has been a force to be reckoned with on the page-and now, on the silver screen. A veteran Avenger and a member of the Illuminati, T'Challa's evolution from being a Jack Kirby and Stan Lee creation, to inspiring his own character-led film for Marvel Studios, to serving as a literal voice of the people and the state of race relations in twenty-first-century America has been legendary. As the first black superhero in mainstream American comics, debuting years before other industry heavy hitters like the Falcon, Luke Cage, and John Stewart (Green Lantern), Black Panther is a seminal figure in pop culture history. This deluxe hardcover book not only covers the history and creation of the character but also features exclusive concept art, layout and sketch art, and interviews."--
